Resumo:Production and consumption activities are increasing the amounts of materials that each year are returned to the environment in a degraded way, potentially threatening the integrity of renewable resources and not renewable. So far incineration and dumping practices are the most common throughout the world, in our country most municipalities evict waste in open dumps, only 4% of waste is destined for composting and 2% are put to classification processes for their Recovery. Faced with this reality, it is essential to undertake initiatives that allow mitigating these problems, with the implementation of solid waste management plans, which is the set of operations aimed at giving them the most suitable destination from an environmental point of view, according to their characteristics, which includes among others the operations of generation, collection, storage, treatment, transport and final disposal of waste. All actions aimed at the care and mitigation of environmental impacts are precise, therefore responsible treatment of waste in all human settlements is essential to contribute to the balance of the nature. Taking into consideration the environment as a way of life in the everyday aspect, at school, at home, at work; what involves elements sociocultural, technical and historical; having to develop a feeling of belonging as typical of each of the people .......................................... .................................................. ....
