Descripción
Sumario:The objective of this research was to know the use of contraceptive methods by adolescents who attend the No 2 Health Center in the city of Esmeraldas. The study was descriptive, quantitative and transversal. The data was collected through the application of a survey to 125 adolescents, aged between 15 and 18 years, who attended the family planning consultation of the indicated health center. It is concluded that adolescents use different contraceptive methods, having a good level of knowledge regarding its use. In addition, a low percentage of them, at the beginning of their sexual life, attend the family planning consultation, to address the issue, prior to this incursion. This brings with it different adverse reactions, such as irregularities in the menstrual cycle and headache.
