Sumario:The proposal of this study is to gather in a text the main ideas presented and discussed during the Research Seminar entitled “Philosophy of Violence: thinking about violence against women” of the University Rey Juan Carlos in Spain. The structure of the work has been developed as follows: initially we present a very significant episode of violence against women's bodies that occurred in Brazil in in 2016. Then, we contextualize, thinking about this violence by describing some actions and academic discussions developed within the study group on contemporary Brazilian literature at the University of Brasilia. Finally, we end with a brief comment on works by contemporary writers who fictionally rework the theme of femicide.
