Sumario:In order to characterize the quality of the management system based on compliance with national health standards in the Gynecology floor of the Hospital General Sur Delfina Torres de Concha, during the semester April - September 2020, a mixed and cross-sectional study was carried out, with a descriptive scope. The sample consisted of 120 patients who met the inclusion criteria, to whom a validated satisfaction survey was applied; and 48 floor workers, randomly selected but later divided by quotas of 24 people, applying a survey to 50% and a semi-structured interview to the other 50%. In the same way, a documentary study was carried out to select the Ecuadorian standards with direct influence on the quality management of the Gynecology floors of general hospitals. The results showed that there are shortcomings in quality management, manifested in economic sufficiency, lack of human resources, the culture of customer service, the vision of managers and their ability to respond to problems, optimization of resources or services and the lack of ongoing staff training. In the same way, the opinions of the users about the control of medical records, the treatment and professionalism of both the nursing and medical personnel, as well as the explanations received were identified as positive results; and there were good opinions of the workers on the environmental conditions of good air conditioning, lighting, decoration, ventilation and working conditions. It is concluded that the national quality management standards are known and are complied with in the daily work by health personnel, but work must continue to achieve quality management in directors- worker communication and taking into account the initiatives for quality improvement.
