Sumario:The present research has the objective of establishing the grade of effectiveness of the guide “Listen-up” through the use of the Moodle virtual platform, so that students can improve their abilities of listening comprehension in English learning. It was worked with a group of 18 students of the Medicine School of the University of Cuenca. A survey was applied to gather information about their previous experiences studying English and a pretest to determine their level in the ability of listening comprehension. Then a treatment was developed through the usage of the guide “Listen-up” and the Moodle platform, and finally, their performance was evaluated through a posttest. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the process since students elevated their level of listening comprehension. The results were explained in the discussion of results conclusions in which it was determined that students were motivated due to a new form of learning, the permanent contact with the language and the easiness of having multiple accents and dialects.
