| Sumario: | The present investigative work, whose objective was to adequately design the routes of the Compañía Internacional de Transporte Iza CITRAIZA S.A., arises from the need to create a route selection system, a process that was carried out empirically, generating operational and economic problems; For this study, the quantitative methodology was used and the shortest route model for the design of routes, using the simplex method of linear programming for calculations and using the Solver tool in Excel; In this way, it was possible to optimize the distance of 4 routes out of a total of 7 routes, results that represent an economic saving of up to $ 2,691.00 per month for the Company; Therefore, the work presented presents a proposal for the design of routes and supply chain that, when applied, will allow the company to remain competitive in the heavy cargo transport market. |
