Sumario:There can be no doubt that the ERP is an important tool for businesses today. As this tool is key within organizations, a critical factor is the optimization of operations and processes. However, it is important to note that the ERP is not a cure for the problems; We factors for and against this technology, and while we can handle the chances of success in its use and benefits are greater. Using the cost - benefit analysis of implementing an ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning) in the company Corporación Ecuatoriana de Aluminio Cedal S. A.; It was identified, critical success factors to be used for the selection of suppliers, type of system to be used, how to conduct the implementation and post-implementation of an ERP system. Through the field study applied in the enterprise Cedal SA in the cities of Quito, Durán and Latacunga; the utility of such tools in industrial enterprises were identified, such as system performance, key improvement factors , to use its resources effectively and efficiently, increase communication between all areas that integrate the company which is essential for strategic decision making base, always focused on processes.
