Descripción
Sumario:With the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, poverty increased throughout the world and with it inequality, with developing countries, such as Ecuador, being the most affected. Based on this problem, this work was developed with the objective of analyzing the effect of COVID-19 on multidimensional poverty in Ecuador, by identifying indicators and dimensions that have a greater impact on multidimensional poverty. The results obtained showed that Ecuador had an increase of 2.1 in the multidimensional poverty index between 2019 and 2020. Therefore, it is proposed to deepen efforts in the articulation and integration of government institutions and civil society to guarantee full coverage of the social assistance, as well as strengthening the existing social protection floors in Ecuador.
