Resumo:San Gil tourist capital of Santander, axis of regional development in eastern Colombia, developing territory as a tourist destination of preference in Colombia, where day by day the presence of foreign tourists grows, before this circumstances of the project "Development of two tourism marketing strategies, including the region brand, for the promotion of San Gil as a destination "where one of its objectives is to know the perception that the tourist offer of the municipality has these visitors, with a view to determining their level of satisfaction and perform a sociodemographic characteristic of them, based on what the consumer thinks and how he behaves.In order to enrich the service portfolio and adjust it to the needs and requirements of those who visit it, the methodology used to achieve the results, it was an exploratory and descriptive market research, the study exploratory gives context to the problem and determines the level of satisfaction, the descriptive study, allows to characterize the population, where the segment and the nationality of the tourist has been established; from abroad, they come mainly from countries like United States, Germany and in growing demand from Brazil and Argentina, make up for young population between 22 and 45 years old, being mostly men, although with a growing female population, who perceive the service of accommodation as the most expensive and receive information of the destination via web or travel agencies.
