| Sumario: | The present investigation work goes into in the environmental urban problem in the city of Loja, and of its incidence in the projection of the new urbanizations. Answer is given to the following general objective: to propose a group of standard environmental for urbanizations ecological auto self-sustainable of social interest housing for the city of Loja. The urbanization in Loja the same as in the Latin American cities it only completes normative of physical and functional character but they don't complete a normative one environmental that it promotes the harmony in the relationship man-nature and conserve the ecological characteristics and that therefore it adapts to the local environmental conditions. Consequently, the current model of urban development in the city of Loja is not sustainable; situation for which have cooperated different situations like the abused consumption of resources, the high production of garbage, as well as the high cost of production of the constructive materials, etc. This whole identified problem coexists with an absence of standard or urban environmental indicators, matters to plan the human habitat. These relating ones environmental of local ecological urban planning, they were determined considering, the predominant biophysical characteristics in the valley of Loja, the current situation of the environmental normative and the problematic in general of the pattern of development of the city. Each one of the environmental variables and their incidence were described in the sustainable urban planning, ending up determining the current state of the urban-environmental ecosystem in the city of Loja, putting emphasis in the aspects of ecological character and their variables. It ended up settling down that in the city of Loja, they exist suitable environmental conditions for the development of new urbanizations in the areas of urban expansion, which should be framed in the ecological urban planning, and to respond to the individual characteristics of their environment. As a result of the investigation, a proposal was developed of standard environmental specific for the city of Loja, based on the local environmental potentialities, settling down a climatological characterization of the city starting from which a manual was elaborated of standard environmental for urbanizations ecological self-sustainable that it will give answer to the new planning of the urbanization of harmonic growth with the nature. The pattern of current urban development and in a specific way in the city of Loja can not be more a growth detached with the environmental characteristics of each town. The "new urbanization" in the city of Loja, it should possess characteristic of selfsustainable that allow the use of renewable energy, reduction in the production of garbage, decreasing of the atmospheric contamination, using of alternative materials and efficient use of the natural resources. It is necessary that the present work constitutes a starting point of many more that it could be created in search of achieving a specific environmental normative for each territory; and a very discreet approach of the new global paradigm, the urban sustainable.
