Sumario:The urban gardens of AGRUPAR project are characterized by areas of family production, in which use agroecological techniques for production of vegetables and other products, the fate of the production is primarily for consumption and surpluses are used for sale, other of the important features is that it has improved the self-esteem of urban farmers and social integration that are fundamental part in the quality of human life. Despite all the benefits that urban agriculture showed in urban gardens supported by AGRUPAR, this alternative production has not been viewed in its entirety, so that the present investigation looking alternatives that contribute to the economy of participating families from AGRUPAR and social promotion of agroecological environments through tourism farm. The general objective of this research is to analyze the potential of urban gardens of the Metropolitan District of Quito for the implementation of a agritourism route through three specific objectives: Describe the organizational process of producers urban gardens AGRUPAR through characterization and mapping of actors in the areas from Metropolitan District of Quito. Identify the natural, social and cultural diversity of urban gardens AGRUPAR through a multidimensional analysis of the Metropolitan District of Quito and determine the potential for implementing an agritourism route in AGRUPAR urban gardens, through an inventory of tourist attractions in areas study. The results allowed us to find tourism potential in 9 urban gardens and the proposed three agritourism routes incorporating two urban gardens by route: The gardens of Eden Pasochoa and Huasipugo located near to "Valle de los Chillos"; Catsuquí de Moncayo and La Sierra located in the north; San Gabriel and Agrovida in the southern area of the Metropolitan District of Quito.
