A new rurality in Ecuador? Change and permanence in rural spaces in the era of globalization

The article discuss about the notion of “new rurality” (nueva ruralidad) from a demographic analysis of the Ecuadorian rural population. It asks if this concept, as it is used in the European context, is relevant for the analysis of a highly heterogeneous rural society, like the Ecuadorian one.
