Resumo:The purpose of this research is to analyze credit policies, delinquency rate in the diversification of microcredit offered by financial institutions located in the canton of La Libertad in the province of Santa Elena; the need to have or increase economic resources for business capital or expand their enterprises, but for this purpose, they must have adequate guarantees; However, microentrepreneurs do not have knowledge of the processes they must comply with to access microcredits; a situation that makes many microentrepreneurs unable to access microcredits because they do not meet the requirements established in the microcredit policies set forth by the financial institutions. For this reason, the question posed in the formulation of the problem is: to what extent do the credit policy and the delinquency rate hinder the diversification of microcredit? Therefore, the mixed approach, inductive method, was considered and applied with the techniques of: surveys conducted to a total of 322 microentrepreneurs who apply for microcredits, and interviews to departmental heads and business executives of the Financial Institutions: Cooperative "LSY" and Bank "BPS, and documentary observation, contributed in the collection, tabulation and processing of the study, instruments that provided valuable information in the development, on the amounts requested, payment time, guarantees, types of business, level of confidence and risk, in the allocation of microcredit to microentrepreneurs, by the Financial Institutions; giving as an answer, that microentrepreneurs do not have adequate information, when they apply for microcredit........
