Sumario:The present invetigation work was developed with the objective of promoting the management of the cultural and religious tourism in the Historical Center of the Latacunga city, as well as the characterization of the architectural resources that it possesses, since they have not been valued as historical patrimony. For the development of this research a survey of information was carried out by means of texts and web pages, as well as with instruments such as the survey, which was carried out to the visitors that arrived to the city and the interview directed to the tourist providers, Latacunga Gad Municipal, and with the collaboration of the Tourism Ministery in it the importance of the tourist activity that it represents for the city was evidenced. XII The purpose of this study was the public and private sector involvement in a strategy of local development by means of a tourist route that serves as a tool to promote internal tourism as a contribution to the tourist development of the city. For the elaboration of this project, five chapters were carried out, which are described as follows: The first chapter discusses the theoretical basis, as well as the methodology to be used. In the second chapter, the proposal was presented, which is intended to be a development strategy. The third chapter presented the results obtained. The fourth and fifth chapters concluded with the conclusions and recommendations obtained from the research.
