| Sumario: | Climate change in recent years is one of the most important issues of the international assembly in the environmental component. The group of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) has been increasing rapidly. This study was carried out in the "El Topo" community of the Otavalo Canton, Imbabura Province, with the proposal of improving the technical and environmental service to the commercial forest plantation established in the community, with the aim that the population can improve its quality of life having an economic income in your plantation for environmental services. The amount of biomass, carbon in the soil and air per area was determined, four plots of 1000 m2 were quantified, and four subplots of 25 m2, where the dasometric variables, biomass, neccuzzi and soil were measured, allometric equations were used. The average CO2 t ha-1 obtained 422.10 of carbon, finding differences found in the variable for DBH and basal area in the Pine species, in the treatments of the variable biomass and the carbon content without differences. The average annual increase in Pinus pátula plantations in three sites of the Otavalo canton presented the best average in the low topographic site and the lowest average was in the high topographic site whose planting is carried out at an altitude of 3400 - 3600. The greatest amount of biomass, Carbon in the soil and necrotized matter was obtained by the middle topographic site, its geographical location allows better plant development. The result, obtained based on the yield of the established plantation of P. patula in the Otavalo canton per hectare, it is estimated that the economic income generated by the forest plantation for the production of the wood until the short shift of 2031 will be USD $ 112,626.30 in a volume of 8,515.94 m3. The forest plantation is in the growth stage, it could take 12 years to reach the felling shift, for this purpose a minimum amount of USD $ 211,983.07 must be invested in maintenance. Based on the results, it is not profitable to continue investing in it. |
