| Sumario: | The Political Economy of the Communication provides the theoretical platform to understand the film Cuban movement from the concept of cultural industry. The initial conception of ICAIC regarding the cinema like an artistic more than economic fact is coherent with the unproductive condition of the work and the social high value that characterizes its activity. They are verified, nevertheless, contradictions and critical tensions in connection with the social purpose and the economic sustainable, author’s production and the financing sources, the defense of the national identity and the insert in commercial circuits at global level. |
