| Resumo: | Because of its geographic location, the Llanganates Sangay Ecologic Corridor (CELS) is considered an emblematic refuge of flora and fauna. It hosts a variety of micro basins, habitats and landscapes. There is a shortage of information about the CELS composition and operation due to its recent formation. That is why the urgent need to generate specific studies of each taxon to determine the use of the corridors for the dispersion of fauna and the availability of resources to identify the areas of use and shelter, as well as the minimum habitat requirements to guarantee the presence of each species. The strengthening and formation of biocorridors are alternatives to change the extractive productive activities into environmental improvement practices to encourage tourism activities, and the conservation of buffer zones in the protected areas. This should be the challenge of CELS. |
