Sumario:The present researching work was based on the energy consumption study in the perimeter illumination circuit in the Villano A station of the Agip Oil Ecuador oil field through the use of efficient equipment and measuring instruments to determine the energy consumed by sodium vapor lamps of 400 watts that are currently installed. It was important to analyze and evaluate the high consumption of energy to determine and demonstrate that using another lamp it is possible to save it. In this analysis, it was followed the international standards and the electrical codes regulated in the country. The proposal is to use another type of lighting as the LED. This lamp type was evaluated at the same time that its technical features and benefits. The obtained results allowed proposing a change of selected lamps, which are the FMV 25L LED. This type of lights has technical guarantee and it is long lasting. Additionally, The LED could save the energy the 35,35% compared with the lamp that is installed on the electricity pylons of the Villano A station. In respect of the economic factor, it was verified a considerable saving which determines that this study is feasible. It also contributes to prevent the gas emission to the environment which will reduce the environmental pollution due to the energy generation is produced in the oil production factory by the generating sets.
