| Sumario: | The Association Agreement on Trade, Political Dialogue and Cooperation projects for the region, and particularly for Costa Rica, immense potential benefits in trade, investment, and development assistance. Costa Rica accounts for more than one half of Central America’s exports to the EU and has therefore the capability, more than any other Central American country, to better take benefit from a stable trade and investment relationship with the EU Market. This article provides some reflections on the opportunities opened up to our productive sectors and analyzes the ongoing economical, political and especially social challenges, intrinsic in the necessary complex structure of our trade policy, that need to be addressed in order to fully reap the benefits of the Agreement. |
