Through the biographical analysis of the cantadora as well as the negotiation and recording process of this album, this article aims to expose some of the diffusion mechanisms of tradition that influence the construction and stabilization of cultural and ethnic categories in the context of Afro-Colombian musical practices.En 1998, el sello discográfico francés de músicas tradicionales Ocora Radio France publica el disco Colombie • Le bullerengue/Petrona Martínez, grabación que le abrió a Petrona Martínez las puertas del éxito a nivel nacional e internacional e hizo beneficiar al bullerengue de una difusión mundializada. A partir del análisis biográfico de la cantadora, así como del proceso de negociación y grabación de dicho disco, este artículo pretende mostrar algunos de los mecanismos de proclamación de la tradición que contribuyen a la construcción y estabilización de categorías culturales y étnicas relacionadas con prácticas musicales afrocolombianas.Em 1998, a gravadora de música tradicional francesa Ocora Radio France lançou o álbum Colombie • Le bullerengue/Petrona Martínez, uma gravação que abriu as portas do sucesso nacional e internacional para Petrona Martínez e fez com que o bullerengue se beneficiasse-se da difusão mundial.
