En adición, se muestran y discuten datos merísticos y morfometrícos de los ejemplares capturados como soporte a la identificación.The objective of this contribution is to present new records of the occurrence of Sphoeroides pachygaster, based on 8 specimens deposited in a scientific collection of 175-313 mm in standard length weighing 178.7-1 010 g, which were captured south of Veracruz, southwestern Gulf of Mexico. In addition, meristic and morphometric data of the captured specimens are given and discussed as support for identification.O objetivo desta contribuição é apresentar novos registros de ocorrência de Sphoeroides pachygaster, com base em 8 espécimes depositados em uma coleção científica, de 175-313 mm de comprimento padrão e pesando 178.7-1.010g, capturados ao sul de Veracruz, sudoeste do Golfo do México.
