Sumario:This paper analyzes the iconography and ideology of the Gallery of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica with the objective to compare symbolic and ideological values of the portraits of Presidents and Heads of State of the Republic. In this case, the following aspects are considered: pictorial elaboration, framework and portraiture collection in other visual manifestations. It takes into consideration the portraits of: José María Castro Madriz and Braulio Carrillo Colina to exemplify.
