Key Words: India, Greece, Rome, Silk Road, loan words.La India ha comerciado desde épocas muy antiguas; de esta actividad hay información en restos arqueológicos en un inicio, luego en los textos en lengua sánscrita. El contacto con la Grecia y Roma antiguas se realizó por medio de Persia, por la ruta de la Seda, tanto por tierra como por vía marítima. Este comercio permitió la introducción de términos sánscritos en otras lenguas, especialmente en latín y griego, y luego al español de manera indirecta.
