In conclusion, the educative reform occurred on 1886 fueled the raise of new provincial capitals, also the issuing of these papers was on its majority made in an artisan way and that the central politics model that Costa Rica opted for limited deeply the life cycle of these publications.Este artículo analiza los periódicos que circularon en las provincias costarricenses entre 1850 y 1950.  A la luz de los postulados de los historiadores Jean-François Botrel y Robert Darnton, se profundiza en las características de dichos periódicos, así como también en sus procesos de producción y distribución.
