Pesquería, Nuevo León has been undergoing gradual changes in its population growth, which has been quickly multiplied in the last years thanks to the arrival of big investors. This  brings  newneeds that are perceived by the community as analternative or solution to the challenges and changes in the practices of the inhabitants of Pesquería, Nuevo León. Leisure, spreading activities, also the availability of new, and more public and private recreational areas are considered as the alternative to the new prospect of municipal dynamist or urban stress. Thus, it is of social, economic, environmental and politica importance to attend this new socio- urban phenomenon that impacts this municipality inhabitant’s well-being. Therefore, the inhabitant´s perceptions will be important to define the well- being satisfiers that derivate from social programs and initiatives public or private, in order to satisfy these new social needs.    El presente artículo  analiza  la percepción  que tienen los habitantes del municipio de Pesquería, Nuevo León en México, sobre el ocio y esparcimiento como determinantes de bienestar personal y social. El municipio, con dicotomía rural-urbano, ha experimentado cambios graduales en el crecimiento de su población, pues se ha multiplicado velozmente en los últimos años por la llegada de grandes inversiones. Esto trae consigo nuevas necesidades, percibidas por la población como una alternativa ante los nuevos desafíos y cambios en las costumbres de los habitantes del municipio de Pesquería, N. L. Las actividades de ocio y recreación, así como la disponibilidad de nuevos y más espacios públicos y privados  de  entretenimiento  son vistos como alternativa al nuevo panorama de dinamismo municipal o estrés urbano.  Es de importancia social,  económica,  ambiental y política atender este fenómeno socio-urbano que impacta en el bienestar de los habitantes del municipio.
