In this regard, this work is centered in a critical manner in what could be described as "Medardo Mejia's project to produce a general history of Honduras.  Este trabajo sobre el historiador hondureño Medardo Mejía (1907-1981) es más aproximativo que conclusivo sobre sus aportes a la historiografía hondureña. Se presentan dos de las principales cambios que Medardo Mejía realizo dentro de los estudios históricos en honduras, como la introducción del marxismo y la elaboración de una historia general de Honduras de largo alcance en seis volúmenes.
