description This paper takes up and updates information derived from my research project for Master's Degree in Women's Studies research titled “Analysis of the factors that influence the process of intervention in domestic violence at the Unit for Care and Prevention of Family Violence (UAPVIF)", which aimed to analyze the process of intervention in gender violence and the various factors that influence it. Qualitative research work was carried out to give an account of this process, using an ethnographic method; the main techniques implemented were in-depth interviews and observation. This article analyzes the circumstances in Mexico City (formerly the Federal District) that facilitated the incorporation of the issue of gender violence in the public agenda and the impact generated in the practices of attention to domestic violence from two laws on the subject. This analysis focuses on the UAPVIFs, which belong to the Government of Mexico City. The above is done within the framework of the 10th anniversary of the publication of the Law on Women's Access to a Life Free of Violence, and the next change of public administration that will take place at the end of 2018.

The above is done within the framework of the 10th anniversary of the publication of the Law on Women's Access to a Life Free of Violence, and the next change of public administration that will take place at the end of 2018.  El presente escrito retoma y actualiza información que surgió de mi investigación de Maestría en Estudios de la Mujer titulada: “Análisis de los factores que influyen en el proceso de intervención a la violencia doméstica en la Unidad de Atención y Prevención de la Violencia Familiar (UAPVIF)”, que tuvo como objetivo analizar el proceso de intervención a la violencia de género y los diversos factores que influyen en este. Para dar cuenta de ello se realizó una investigación cualitativa aplicando un método etnográfico y como técnicas principales la entrevista a profundidad y la observación. En este artículo, se analizan las coyunturas en la Ciudad de México (antes Distrito Federal) que facilitaron la incorporación del tema de la violencia de género en la agenda pública y el impacto generado en las prácticas de atención a la violencia doméstica a partir de dos leyes en la materia. Dicho análisis está enfocado en las UAPVIF, instancias pertenecientes al Gobierno de la Ciudad de México. Lo anterior, en el marco del décimo aniversario de la publicación de la Ley de Acceso de las Mujeres a una Vida Libre de Violencia y del próximo cambio de administración pública que se vivirá a finales de 2018. Este trabalho retoma e atualiza as informações que emergiram da minha pesquisa no Mestrado em Estudos da Mulher intitulado: "Análise dos fatores que influenciam o processo de intervenção para a violência doméstica, na Unidade de Prevenção e Atenção à Violência Familiar (UAPVIF) )”, que teve como objetivo analisar o processo de intervenção da violência de gênero e os diversos fatores que a influenciam. Para dar conta disto, uma pesquisa qualitativa foi realizada aplicando um método etnográfico e como técnicas principais a entrevista e observação em profundidade. Neste artigo, analisamos as situações na Cidade do México (ex-Distrito Federal) que facilitaram a incorporação do tema da violência de gênero na agenda pública e o impacto gerado nas práticas de atenção à violência doméstica de duas leis na matéria. Esta análise é focada na UAPVIF, entidades pertencentes ao Governo da Cidade do México. O que precede é no âmbito do décimo aniversário da publicação da Lei sobre o Acesso da Mulher a uma Vida Livre de Violência e a próxima mudança na administração pública que ocorrerá no final de 2018.
