| Sumario: | This paper begins with brief descriptions of the concepts to be discussed, starting with alternative economic models. This review includes the most accepted concepts of Social Economy and also expands the range of possibilities to include more ambitious models of social protection, such as the Social and Solidarity Economy. The paper continues with a review of the Welfare State, its structure, motivations and functioning. The following section considers the points of inflection and concordance that exist between the concepts described above, and then addresses the possibility and necessity of the existence of a system of redistribution of social resources within an alternative or complementary economic model to capitalism. |
