Sumario:Adverse drug events (ADEs) are considered the third leading cause of death worldwide and a major public health problem; Pharmacovigilance is an important tool for their prevention and identification. Therefore, it is considered important to know which are the EAM most frequently presented in the IPS of the city of Montería.objective. Analyze the adverse events reported in the Pharmacovigilance of the Institutions Providers of Health Services of the municipality of Montería in the period 2018-2020. Methodology. Descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective study with a quantitative approach, which used a multivariate analysis through the multiple correspondence analysis technique, with the Orange DataMing statistical software. Results. This type of analysis found that females and adults are more likely to present ADE; 52.3% of these events are manifested in skin allergic reactions, the skin being the most affected system; antibiotics are the pharmacological group that causes the most ADE with 18.3%; the most frequent severity is type G with a probable causality; the main EAMs are related to prescription. By grouping these variables, 3 groups stood out, which associated the most representative categories. Conclusions. ADEs are a phenomenon that affect the health system and increase the rate of morbidity and mortality; factors such as age and sex increase the risk of suffering from them; DRP associated with prescription can be avoided by training health professionals.
