Description
Summary:The profiles under forests showed reduction characteristics In the lower horizons, in contrast with the profiles under pasture which showed the previous characteristics In all the horizons, due to the temporary flooding. In this process of reduction were evidenced hematite destruction and goethite formation, crystalin iron was the dominant mineral in whereas amorphous iron was the dominant material in the profiles under pasture. Besides, these changes caused by the reduction process in the iron oxide, there was not any meaning alteration in the mineralogy in both the gross fractions and the fine fraction of the soil forests and the soil under pasture. The profiles P1 and P2 under forests were classified as Typic Tropudult, the profiles P3 and the profiles under pasture, P4, P5 and P6 were classified Epiaquic Tropudult.
