Descripción
Sumario:This article deals with the account of the conquest built by the Colombian historian Ernesto Restrepo Tirado between 1902 and 1934, following the methodological guidelines proposed by the Colombian Academy of History. This is a study of the depicted character that was achieved through the review of papers published in the Journal of History and Antiquities where the peer perception on this historian is shown. The account is approached from the revision of the method followed by the author and the characters highlighted in it. The relationship established by Restrepo between the Conquest, the founding of the Colombian nation and some indigenous groups he defined as civilized, excels in this research, a conclusion that makes this author a pioneer of pre-hispanic studies in Colombia.
