| Sumario: | The design, building and maintenance of special structures such as bridges have generated the need to develop experimental tests in order to identify, in a precise manner, their most important structural properties (statics and dynamics). The diffculty to use forced or excitation-based vibration tests in a controlled manner brought about the quest for other useful and more applicable identifcation methods such as the use of excitation due to ambient vibrations. The Ambient Vibration Testing (AVT) has yielded good results in bridges at both national and international levels. This is the reason for the interest in their study. This document presents a study of the principal aspects related to the application of AVT, focusing on different issues such as feld measurements, existing modal identifcation methods with ambient vibrations, and calibration of models in fnite elements from experimental data. |
