Descripción
Sumario:This doctoral thesis project aims to propose a value chain for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production in Colombia, supported by an assessment of its potential. The objective is to identify the key raw materials, technologies, actors, and actions involved. This will be substantiated with estimates of production costs and greenhouse gas emissions over the life cycle of SAF for the designed value chains. Ultimately, value chain designs that are advantageous for the Colombian context will be developed, considering non-technical aspects and the objectives of various stakeholders. Based on existing literature and available information, the study will begin by assessing the production potential using available volumes, production break-even points, and official sector projections. This analysis will facilitate the outlining of scenarios for each SAF production method. Subsequently, raw materials, technologies, and regions that do not meet technical, economic, or environmental criteria will be eliminated before being included in the value chain proposal.
