Sumario:Identifying what actors drive social change through the courts has been a central pursuit in the socio-legal literature. This paper studies the actors behind Colombia’s LGBT rights revolution (1992–2022) using a network approach that extends beyond social movements, support structures, and coordinated litigation. I argue that legal mobilization networks (the group of actors beyond advocacy organizations, like academics, government officials, and ordinary people) are key pieces of rights revolutions. Based on an original database of 133 rulings, interviews, and network analysis, the results show the emergence of a broad pro-LGBT network of civil society and state actors that played a crucial role in advancing LGBT rights and countering conservative-religious mobilization by using litigation and amicus curiae briefs. This research shows that a network approach contributes to developing a more comprehensive theory of the different actors and resources that influence legal change, as well as to theorizing about the implications of different mobilizing structures.
