Resumo:This paper aims to measure the level of financial inclusion for a group of small farmers in Antioquia, Colombia. In order to this, there is an initial review on the importance of agriculture for Colombian economy and the correlation with national economic development. Additionally, there is an explanation on the methodologies that are currently available to measure financial inclusion both for individuals and for countries as whole. Finally, and starting from the literature on the topic, a new methodology for this kind of measuring is proposed and applied on the mentioned population. As a conclusion, it is stated that, in spite of living in rural zones due to their economic activity, these group of people has a medium-high level of financial inclusion represented mainly by deposits, which is considered as the most relevant criteria out of those considered to define inclusion.
