| Sumario: | The peasant agricultural sector is undoubtedly one of the most important productive sectors since it provides families with basic goods that satisfy their needs. However, the constant variability of its prices, also configures it as one of the most unstable sectors and sometimes not very profitable for producers. The determinants of these variations have been analyzed for several years, managing to identify patterns over which the producer has no control. Specifically, in the agricultural markets of small informal producers, having control over these determinants becomes much more difficult, therefore, the effects are much more significant. Taking into account the above, this article deals with the theoretical component of price variability in the agricultural sector, and attempts to compare these determinants with the local reality of the peasants of the Municipality of El Carmen de Viboral-Antioquia, thus identifying the main factors that cause the variation of prices. The article emerges from the research macro-project called: Other Economies that seeks to analyze the behavior of the various markets. |
