| Sumario: | Objective: Identify the meaning in terms of gains and losses attributed to the fact their marital separation three middle-aged women, mothers, homemakers, without technical / professional, resident studies in the city of Cali. Method: This was a qualitative, descriptive study of transversal character interpretive and way of case study, based on in-depth interviews. Results: The data obtained allowed us to understand that women addressed do not mean separation as an insurmountable personal loss and very close to the time of separation, meant as loss suffering that has for children marital breakdown, the absence of fathers in parenting the little emotional bond between father and children and finally the loss of the ideal of "perfect" family. Regarding earnings, these women represent the largest and most important gain was achieved recognize themselves as women who knew how to move forward alone, realizing that initial fears of feeling that they would not be able to economic obligation or that of raising their children, they were not real. |
