| Sumario: | The aim of this research work is to identify and analyse the variables that influence the use of informal modes of transport in Cali in 2015. In order to meet this objective, available secondary information was analysed and a multiple linear regression model was constructed, through which it is possible to state that, in Cali, informality in transport has a direct relationship with the socioeconomic stratum of the users, the motorisation rate, the average travel time in public transport calculated on the basis of average global accessibility, and the distance to the nearest public transport stop. With the results obtained, it is possible to conclude that, although journeys made in informal modes of transport have a relationship with the socioeconomic characteristics of the users, this phenomenon also finds space and explanation in the characteristics of the offer of formal public transport, specifically in the global average accessibility explained as the average time of journey in public transport, and in the distance between the users' home and the nearest public transport stop. |
