Descripción
Sumario:Nanoscience is the study of structures of sizes between 1 and 100 nanometers, called nanostructures, which due to their small size behave differently from those at micro and macroscopic scales. These new properties of the materials could result in the manufacture of new products and development of new technologies. There are so many possible applications that it is believed that we are at the beginning of a new technological revolution. In this paper, we try to explain the importance of outreach and educational activities in science in general, and nanoscience in particular. We also briey discuss some activities being undertaken by the Thematic Network \Jose Roberto Leit" Outreach and Education in Nanotechnology, NANODYF (www.nanodyf.org) belonging to the Thematic Area 6 Science and Society, of the Ibero-American Science and Technology Development Program, CYTED.
