description Las viviendas de Playa Ancha de fines del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX, caracterizan el paisaje urbano y corresponden a un tipo arquitectónico de la época en Valparaíso. Son 82 viviendas del tipo, ubicadas en las Poblaciones Bueras y San Juan del Puerto, sector fundacional del Cerro; y tienen la declaración de Inmuebles o Conjuntos de Conservación Histórica. El presente estudio trata cuatro viviendas, dos que han mantenido su uso habitacional y dos con cambio de uso. De los cuales, se abordaran las intervenciones realizadas a lo largo de un siglo de utilidad, a partir de su evolución histórica, morfología, sistema constructivo y material, distribución espacial, y grado de protección patrimonial, para general una valorización de cada caso. Se realiza un análisis comparativo para concluir en criterios para la intervención material y espacial, además de recomendaciones normativas, que sea idónea a la preservación de los valores identificados.
