Descripción
Sumario:This article aims to reflect on the reception policy for indigenous Venezuelan refugees in Teresina-PI. Initially, there is a presentation of this migrant: he is indigenous and, due to the context of his displacement, he is considered a refugee. Therefore, a critical approach to human rights is made regarding the process of migrants' integration and the need for intercultural dialogue as an instrument for the realization of formally foreseen rights. The study was developed through semi-structured interviews with migrants and other actors involved in the reception process, as well as through bibliographic research and document analysis. From there, it was possible to perceive that, in addition to bureaucratic difficulties, the success of a policy for welcoming migrants depends on intercultural dialogue.
