E mail: andremasseaux@gmail.com Feline chronic progressive polyarthritis affects mainly young adult male cats and in most cases it is associated with feline leukemia virus infection. The diagnosis is made with radiographic evaluation of the altered joints and supportive treatment. This study aims to report a case of a seven-year-old male feline patient, tested positive for feline leukemia virus infection, presented with generalized articular volume increase with a progression of approximately two months. Radiographic findings were consistent with feline chronic progressive polyarthritis. The patient presented a good response to the instituted therapy with improvement in clinical signs and ambulation . A good history taking as well as complementary exams and the knowledge of specific diseases of cats makes the correct diagnosis and treatment easier to reach. |
