| Sumario: | The central portion of São Paulo State has proven to be an important location for identifying different types of artifacts associated with hunter-gatherer groups. Piracicaba city seems to be no different. Even with few registered archaeological sites, knowledge of the area can be built from analyzes of artifacts collected by local residents. We present results of unprecedented analyzes that allow us to propose cultural variability within what was called the Rioclarense Industry. This study also shows the importance of working with pieces without exact context, as a way of advancing knowledge in areas with few registered sites. |
