| Sumario: | Introductory Geology courses from the Geology and Geography courses at the State University of Campinas seek to provide an integrated view of natural and social processes and relate the Earth System (geological knowledge) with the World System (geographical knowledge). The dynamic and integrative model combines expository classes with an intense load of practical activities and fieldwork, but the Covid-19 pandemic prevented students from accessing classrooms, laboratories and the field. This article describes a practical approach to Bloom's taxonomies and Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes (SOLO) carried out with students entering courses. The professors aimed to develop the students' cognition with a focus on acquired skills, behaviors and attitudes. By rigorously defining didactic objectives and formative assessments, motivated and engaged students can be obtained that are capable of using cognitive processes at the highest possible level, regardless of final education, geology or geography. |
