Resumo:The present research was established with the objective of analyzing the development of the offer of experiences of dark tourism existing in the Netflix series "Turismo Macabro", in order to verify how this offer is characterized in tourism. The research is also aided in objectives to discuss the representation of dark in audiovisual production, as well as identify cases of dark tourism that dialogue with experiences in Brazil. The intention of studying the segment of dark tourism in this research arises in looking at the supply of tourist diversification, which is developed in contemporary parameters of consumption. In fact, the interest for the dark is something that has already occurred in other times, classic works such as "Count Dracula" and "Frankenstein" are examples of this. This interest may well represent the transformation processes of consumer behavior, since its presence in digital platforms, seen in streaming services like Netflix, for example, demonstrates the need to understand this scenario and the contribution of this content to tourism as a phenomenon. Given the objectives of this work, the theoretical framework consists of authors who discuss and interpret the dark produced as an attraction for tourism, such as Stone (2006; 2009; 2012); Seaton (1996; 1999: ; 2018); Blom (2000); Dann (1994); Rojek (1993); Lennon (2017); Korstanje (2018); Sharpley (2005; 2009), also supported by the authors who address the audiovisual, portrayed by Beni (2004); Páduan (2017); Mathews (2018); Hurley (2018). The documentary series "Macabre Tourism," aired in 2018 by Netflix, exposes the experiences of journalist David Farrier around the world. From this filmic work, viewing the practices belonging to the series' narrative can evoke analysis on the understanding and implications of this tourism segment. The research has a qualitative descriptive character and elaborated an instrument for data collection and analysis, in which an analysis form systematized the information contained in the research object. Since it is a series, it was necessary to work the data through an analysis protocol in order to produce the results of the work. This study concluded that the series Turismo Macabro is a production that carries the range of modalities of dark tourism offerings that run into ethical, political issues and its own limitation, with this, it was verified that the intent of the series in exploring this type of tourism is a way to display the singularities in dark tourism experiences. It is also considered that the scenario of dark tourism in Brazil as a developing segment and for this reason productions such as Netflix can stimulate a more qualified practice, through the academic gaze that investigates this process of constitution. This academic look should be able to produce a break from common sense impregnated to the object of this research, and that transcends to other discussions necessary for this type of tourism.
