| Sumario: | Brazilian agriculture has historically obtained from rural credit policy an instrument to expand its productive activities. The study aims to analyze access and distribution of credit from the National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture (Pronaf) in the municipality of Chapecó/SC between 1996 and 2023. The research has a historical-deductive approach, carried out through collection and secondary data analysis. Pronaf data were analyzed, on the official website of the Central Bank of Brazil, through the Rural Credit Data Matrix platform (2013-2023) and the Rural Credit Statistical Yearbook (1996-2012). Furthermore, statistics from the 2017 Agricultural Census and information on Agricultural Production from Municipal Livestock Production were examined. Agricultural funding resources (94.3%) are used to five activities: Machines and Implements; Tractors/Other Vehicles; Physical Infrastructure; Cattle; Renewable energy. There is a need for adjustments in public policy to meet its target audience, as well as the aims and objectives of the program. |
