| Sumario: | This article intends to make a case study about the group on Whatsapp called "Imprensa PB 2018" (fictitious name), composed of journalists and communicators, and which spread misinformation during electoral campaign period in Brazil in 2018, mainly related to the positions of President of the Republic. The group had been created with the aim of disseminating links and news related to the political milieu in Paraíba, but it became a channel for the spread of fake news and disinformation, which had supporters of the right and extreme right wing in Brazil. Whatsapp is a messaging application used by more than 120 million Brazilians and has become a means of disseminating information and news, quickly and directly, but it is also throught it that misinformation has been circulating in Paraíba. |
