Sumario:Cordel literature has been used as a resource in the teaching process of learning content from different curricular disciplines. Therefore, we point out the need to know the consequences of this resource in science education. In this article we present the results of a systematic review carried out in the minutes of 10 editions of the National Meeting of Teaching of Science and 7 editions of the National Meeting of Teaching of Biology. We found 12 jobs. After reading, the texts were organized into two categories. Although the quantity was incipient, one aspect observed in the productions was the notoriety that the authors gave when evidencing the potential of the cordel in science teaching, such as, interdisciplinarity, student motivation, valorization of the social and cultural context, among others.
