| Sumario: | We are currently experiencing the pandemic of Sars-Cov2, or COVID-19, which has stopped the world and calls our attention to the issues of race and class in coping with the disease, which has hit the most vulnerable populations that are historically marginalized in several countries. Thus, the objective of this article is, through an analysis of the health crisis that occurred during the First Republic and the riot of the poor classes in 1904 in Rio de Janeiro in what became known as “The Vaccine Uprising”, to discuss topics such as race, class, and citizenship and to provide a new look at the world crisis currently going through, thus contributing to the deepening of the understanding of the transformations and unequal experiences in relations in Brazil. |
