Sumario:The aim of this work is to study the situation of postgraduate programs in rural extension and their influence on the scientific understanding focused on the main social and institutional actors. Methodologically, using qualitative analytical research, the option art’s state was chosen, which interacts with academic production through the quantification and identification of bibliographic data. The corpus of analysis consisted of dissertations and thesis from three Graduate Programs of these institutions: Federal University of Viçosa, Federal University of Santa Maria and Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. In general, in three postgraduate programs, the main categories of analysis groups that demanded their academic research are Family Farming and Public Policies.
